Patience is a Virtue

I have definitely been more patient with the book I am writing, and I think that is for the better. Not pushing myself, not rushing things, has only been actually more helpful than using the drive of "I can't wait for people to read this!" While I absolutely do want others to read it, I also want it to be "just what I want"! I believe Freed came out at just the right time, but I feel like I rushed the process and reaping a little bit of what I sewed for not having the sales that I want. (Please don't get me wrong, I am appreciative for all the love and support everyone has shown me, I can't help but feel I could have done better so it could be better).
I am also thankful for the patience of studying a Biblical marriage. I have spent many years reading many books but reading marriage books for writing this one WHILE reading them for my own, has been nothing but good and beautiful. Sometimes I wanted to make my characters the perfect couple, I knew I needed to add flaws to point that we are (because of sin) and that we need to uplift and encourage the other. I don't have Gid directly in my book, but you can see that throughout the book, there are godly characteristics that will point to what a godly marriage should look like.
I am currently at 67,000 words (rounded) and I am aiming for 80,000. When the first draft is complete, I want to do a better job of editing and reviewing so I can really "hit hard" on the godly characteristics of a godly marriage. This book isn't just a love story, it's meant to be a blueprint, an example, of what God says marriage should be. My characters won't be perfect, but we aren't either....
